The retail sector in Turkey has been favored by the continuous growth of the Turkish economy, more than 5% per year in the last 20 years, a young population (45% under 30 years of age) with growing incomes, more than 60 million credit card users and a growing consumer appetite. Online sales channels represent 36% of the market, with giants such as Getir, Teknosa and Hepsiburada. Mobile devices are the most used online shopping channel. E-commerce sales are around 148 billion lira per year, with 42% of the population regularly shopping online. There are more than 300,000 companies whose core business involves online sales. According to official estimates, customers who will buy online will exceed 45 million in the next 3 years.
