TÜRKIYE IMPORT-EXPORT CUSTOMS DECLARATION PROCEDURES

In order to carry out the customs clearance of the goods that will enter or exit Türkiye within the scope of your foreign trade activities, you must make a detailed notification to the customs office about these goods and the foreign trade transaction you have made. This is called a “customs declaration”.

The information in your customs declaration determines which customs and foreign trade rules will apply to your goods. As a result of the customs office checking the accuracy of the information you provide in your customs declaration, the taxes you have to pay for your goods are calculated. Foreign trade statistics are produced on the basis of the information contained in customs declarations.

You can make your customs declaration in writing, electronically and, in certain cases, orally. Customs legislation determines when and how to make a customs declaration.
