Tourism professionals expect a record in the number of tourists and income in 2023

TÜRSAB Chairman of the Board of Directors Firuz Bağlıkaya said that in the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, the highest number of tourists and the highest income in history will be reached.

Baglikaya stated that TÜRSAB, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is in the position of Turkey’s well-established tourism professional organization.

Stating that the travel agencies, which have been promoting and marketing Turkey’s natural beauties, historical and cultural riches all over the world for many years, have made a great contribution to the country’s transformation into a world brand destination in tourism, Bağlıkaya said, with the favor of TÜRSAB members, he once again took up the task of representing the union. He said it was an honor for him to be awarded.

“We are going through a period of global travel frenzy”

Reminding that as we enter the year 2022, there is a large group of people who are longing for a holiday and looking forward to travel, and an accumulated demand around the world due to the epidemic, “We are witnessing together that these demands have turned into travel. We are going through a period of travel frenzy on a global scale.” said.

Stating that Turkey will close the year 2022 at a good point in terms of the number of visitors, thanks to the measures taken by Turkish Airlines regarding flights from Russia to Turkey, charter flights as well as other alternative markets and a significant increase in travel all over Europe. He stated that the most important thing is to increase per capita tourism revenues, and in this respect, it is important to reconstruct a tourism policy that will increase both per capita tourism revenue and per capita per night revenues.

Baglikaya said that according to the information they received from travel agencies, the winter period will also be active, and said:

“Especially our destinations, which are invigorated by nature, thermal and ski tourism, have high demand from domestic and foreign markets. We aim to have a better winter season compared to last year. Reservation demands for our country for the summer season of 2023 are progressing well. WTM London Fair, which we attended at the beginning of November.” “We have had very positive meetings in Istanbul. We are getting positive news from other markets as well. If nothing goes wrong, we will have reached the highest number of tourists and the highest income in history in the 100th anniversary of the establishment of our Republic.”
