Municipalities and universities will be able to apply for technical assistance to renewable energy and energy efficiency projects as part of the EU-funded project. The General Directorate of Energy Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources announced that the applications for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technical Assistance Project (YEVDES) for Municipalities and Universities funded by the EU will start on 15 November 2019. It was stated that the project, which is the beneficiary of the Ministry of Energy, started on 07/03/2019 and will continue for 30 months and that the applications will be received until 2 December 2019 via www.yevdes.org. The YEVDES Project includes trainings to be held in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, international study visits and technical consultancy services for the projects developed in these areas for the Municipality and Universities. The project aims to train 800 people in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, conduct 80 feasibility studies and 80 energy efficiency studies, provide engineering support to 20 projects and support R & D projects. Within the scope of the YEVDES Project, municipalities and universities will be able to request support for a maximum of 2 projects, one in each field. Within the scope of the project, technical consultancy services will be provided to 160 projects developed by municipalities and universities in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The target audience of the YEVDES Project consists of all municipalities and universities (including vocational high schools, technical colleges, institutes, research centers) with a population of between 50,000 and 4,000,000.

Stating that they don’t want investments to slow down, Mustafa Yılmaz warned the foreign companies to take in the consider the domestication will of Turkey in hardware. Yılmaz mentioning that “Investments mean energy, mean Turkey’s future”, said that “We should explain that wind energy investments are the future of our country. We should tell that these investments are maybe the beginning of a road to make Turkey the production center in the future. Today, 95 percent of the material used in the natural gas distribution sector is domestic and exported to abroad. Why not this in the wind and renewable resources?
