UAE investors Turkey

A large delegation from the United Arab Emirates came to Turkey. Discussions were held with the delegation, which explored investment opportunities in Turkey, on renewable energy and defense industry in particular, infrastructure projects such as metro, high-speed train, as well as increasing trade between countries.

After the completion of the elections, foreign investors turned their eyes to Turkey. A large delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also came to Turkey. Looking for investment opportunities in Turkey, the delegation held two meetings with broad participation with representatives of the relevant ministries. In the meetings held in Ankara for two days, the relevant ministries shared their investment program with the UAE delegation. The focus was on increasing the trade between the two countries through infrastructure projects such as the defense industry, metro and high-speed trains, especially renewable energy.


During the meetings, it was stated that 25-30 billion dollars of investment was foreseen to come from the UAE to Turkey, and that Turkey’s exports were aimed to increase from 5 billion dollars to 10 billion dollars. They informed that the officials pointed out that the UAE, as an investor, may be interested in Istanbul metro projects and Ankara-Istanbul super-High Speed Train project. The officials stated that the super-high-speed train project starts from Ankara Sincan and extends to Istanbul via the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge over Nallıhan Sakarya. The work of the 344 km long project was completed before the elections. Within the scope of the project, 19 viaducts with a length of 14 kilometers and 52 tunnels with a length of 120 kilometers are planned, while the train reaches a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and the Ankara-Istanbul travel time is expected to be completed in 90 minutes and 1.5 hours. It was stated that the UAE is also keen on cooperation ways in defense industry issues, especially in SİHA.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who traditionally made his first overseas visit to the TRNC and Azerbaijan after the elections, is scheduled to go to the United Arab Emirates with a large delegation after the feast. It is stated that the two-day work of the UAE delegation, which came to Turkey, is the preliminary study of the protocols that are likely to be signed during this visit.
